Defendant alleged plaintiff was crossing the street against a red light.  Plaintiff alleged that defendant was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and was negligent in failing to stop for the plaintiff. 


Settlement on behalf of a 45-year-old man who injured his leg when fell on a defective stairway.  Plaintiff alleged the stairs were in violation of Chicago Building Code for failing to provide a proper handrail. 


Judgment in favor of a 22-year-old man who sustained an orbital fracture and jaw fracture when he was punched in the face by a security guard at a nightclub without provocation.


Judgment in favor of a 45-year-old woman who sustained a back injury as a result of a car accident.  Plaintiff’s vehicle was broadsided by a Chicago Police car.  Defendant’s alleged the police officers were in hot pursuit of a felon and that their police sirens and lights were activated.   Plaintiff’s attorney argued defendant Chicago Police did not have their lights or sirens activated at the time of the high-speed chase and failed to yield the right-of-way to plaintiff.


Judgment in favor of a 56-year-old woman who sustained a broken leg when she fell down a flight of stairs.  Plaintiff’s attorney alleged that the stairs violated the Chicago Building Code as the stair risers and treads were not uniform.  Defendant offered $100,000 prior to trial.


Settlement in favor of a 38-year-old man who sustained a back injury when he slipped and fell in an Amoco gas station due to a gas spillage.
